We will discuss the criteria for eligibility, and what is necessary for an unmarried person, and a married person to qualify.\n \nWe will discuss techniques that are available to plan for eligibility for these benefits in the future, and how those techniques can be incorporated into an estate plan. We will also discuss how certain estate planning techniques may inadvertently interfere with someone’s eligibility for these benefits if they should need them in the future.\n \n \n \nAbout the Speaker\n \nMarsha Goodman has practiced Elder Law in Arizona since 2008. She is the founder of Specific Law Firm, where her practice is focused exclusively on assisting seniors and their families plan and apply for Arizona Long Term Care and VA benefits, as well as Special Needs and long term care planning.\n \nMs. Goodman is a summa cum laude graduate of St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY and the Vanderbilt University School of Law in Nashville, TN. She is admitted to practice in Arizona and Michigan (inactive), and is an accredited attorney before the Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2015, she was recognized as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, and in 2019, she became a fellow of the American Academy of Trust and Estate Counsel. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and Treasurer of the Arizona chapter, and past president of both the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association and the Executive Council of the Probate and Trust section of the State Bar of Arizona.\n \nMs. Goodman enjoys staying active, on the golf course and in the gym, and holds a world record for deadlifts with the World Association of Benchpress and Deadlifters for her age and weight class.\n \nThank you to our Meeting Sponsor\n \n[]\n
